The 2018 edition of the Subida a Los Loros – Isla de Tenerife was won by Javier Rodriguez. The BRC CM05 EVO pilot was by far the quickest driver on the 8,1 kilometres long course. His time in the first race was already 16 seconds quicker than everybody else. Because of damage to his rear suspension, Rodriguez could not start in the second race. However by that time he was already more than secure of victory. Juan Manuel Alonso and Juan Lorenzo Gonzalez completed the podium in the sportscars. Luis Ramos retired his Radical SR3 after a spin.
In the touringcars Lauren Garcia was in a class of his own. The former race winner was much faster than everybody else and took a simple victory. Tenerife Championship leader Felix Brito saw sixth gear break in his Subaru Impreza WRC. That was very unfortunate on the fast Los Loros Hillclimb. Brito still went out to set a time but it was not very fast. Highly anticipated was the debut of Jonathan Garcia’s new Ginetta G50 GT4. After a few corners in practise it was already over as Garcia damaged his car in a crash.
