Results Craigantlet Hillclimb Run-Offs 2018

The British Hillclimb Championship moved to Northern Ireland for the Craigantlet Hillclimb. Three drivers were in the lead before this event: Trevor Willis, Wallace Menzies and Will Hall. However in the first run-off all three were beaten by Dave Uren. The gaps were very small though. Hall was .02 seconds slower than the leader, Menzies .05 seconds and Willis .15 seconds.

In the second run-off Willis than took control. With fastest time of the day he took his first victory of the season. His time was almost good enough to beat the trackrecord. Menzies was almost a second slower but still second. This means both drivers are still tied in points. Will Hall lost some ground on his rivals after gear selections problems hampered his Force WH AER. He finished fifth, behind Uren and a strong Jason Mourant.

1989 champion Ray Rowan managed to qualify for both run-offs and finished seventh and sixth. Richard Spedding saw his weekend ruined by an oilfire in his GWR Raptor. He scored no points. Because of the small number of BHC entries there is always a chance for touringcars to make the run-offs. This year only Allan McDonald succeeded. He steered his impressive 4-Wheel-Drive Mini EVO to 11th in the first run-off.
