The GHD Lučine in Slovenia was the seventh round of the International Hillclimb Cup. The final race results are based on the best three times combined. Results for the IHCC however were decided on the best two out of three. Vaclav Janik and Nikolay Zlatkov retired in one of the races but still score IHCC points.
At the end of the September the 8th and final round of the IHCC will be competed in Austria. The situation in the various categories is as follows:
In Category 1 Peter Ambruz and Reinhold Taus both won their groups. This means Ambruz retains his 16 point lead over his Austrian rival. However Taus can drop his 0 from Osnabrück while Ambruz must drop his 12.5 from the same event.
In Category 2 Vaclav Janik took group victory this weekend. There were just half points for him which means he is not yet certain of the title. There are 5 drivers who still have a mathematical chance of passing Janik in the championship. One of them is European Championship leader Christian Merli. However none of the five have so far shown any interest in the IHCC.
In Category 3 Karel Trneny finished ahead of his rival Ronnie Bratschi in Lučine. But due to the different scoring method in the IHCC it was actually Bratschi who took maximum points. Because Nikolay Zlatkov finished only fourth in the group, Bratschi is the new champion.
